In a slew of happenings, the circle of musical drama expanded monumentally. After the explosive reaction from the Internet to “ShETHER”, it’s safe to say that the announcement that female MC Remy Ma had another diss track ready to drop on Nicki Minaj, who’s arguably at the top of the mountain in regards to female MC’s, had people hyped up. Similar to the memorable Drake and Meek Mill feud back in 2015, in which Drake dropped two songs “Back to Back”, Remy attempted to use the same strategy in her situation. Unfortunately, some moments only happen once. “Anotha One” is plagued by weak lyricism, lazy delivery, and awfully basic production. What could’ve been the final nail in the coffin, ended up being a ricocheting bullet. What’s even worse is that this almost entirely nullifies the impact of “ShETHER“, giving her opponent a big window of opportunity.

Meanwhile, amidst all of this chaos, female MC Foxy Brown, known for her stellar music back in the 90’s era of Hip-Hop decided to add her two cents to the beef and side with her friend Nicki. Foxy and Remy have a long winded history of issues, but this recent addition will merely be seen as a spark note in the summary. Foxy’s “Breaks Over” track takes the instrumental of the classic diss record “Takeover” by the one and only Jay-Z, and includes average and unnecessary lines mentioning the recent miscarriage Remy suffered. In an attempt to simply go for the low blow, Foxy’s track is ultimately an afterthought.

An explanation for the low quality diss record that exists as “Anotha One” would greatly be appreciated, and in all honesty, Foxy Brown’s input wasn’t needed in the least bit. A most disappointing period in an underwhelming quarrel between female MCs.
