EPISODE 55: Ed Sheeran – ÷ Album Reaction
Grab ÷ right here!!
True artistry is seldom seen these days, but when those small glimpses are found, they usually come with sheer brilliance in whatever field they have talent in, and make no mistake about it, when the name Ed Sheeran comes up anywhere, “true artist” is the phrase that instantly pops into your head. On his third studio album ÷, Sheeran is at his absolute best lyrically, vocally, and musically. The production ranges from the sounds of his homeland, to the sounds of the clubs in America. Powered by the lead singles “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill”, ÷ is the most daringly diverse release of the year so far. Sheeran himself stated, “there is no specific sound of the album”, and usually that’s a recipe for disaster, but for Sheehan’s latest effort, the 16 track listen maintains a level of unpredictability that only results in a more engaging experience with a true work of art. From the upbeat, party jams like “Galway Girl”, “Nancy Mulligan”, “Bibia Be Ye Ye” and “Barcelona”, to the heartfelt, soul-bearing ballads like “Happier”, “Supermarket Flowers”, “How Would You Feel (Paean)”, and the album’s closer “Save Myself”, you get every bit of Sheeran possible, and every bit is beautiful. ÷ exists as a true testament of music, from a truly great artist.
