Bandmates Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun have arguably the biggest cult following in music. A factor of twenty one pilots’ gigantic success can be credited to their reminiscent Punk attitude and musical prowess that mirrors that of bands like The White Stripes and an edgier Black Keys ensemble. Nonetheless, the duo have made waves and a permanent impact on the music scene and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. On their 3rd album Vessel, Joseph showcases his purely distinctive vocals over versatile percussion provided by Dun. In addition to being quite the vocalist, Joseph also is a multi-talented instrumentalist. Throughout the album, ferocious baselines are mixed with delicate ukulele melodies and hauntingly beautiful piano chords, resulting in a diverse listen that encapsulates the listener from the first track to the last track. Their single “Car Radio” has been referred to as the group’s most experimental and was the single that launched them into stardom, which in turn led to Vessel being the launching album for Dun and Joseph. It all started with their self-titled debut, followed by their independently released second album Regional At Best, everything was changed with this album, but the album that would follow, would cement twenty one pilots in music forever.
